True Grit - Classic

I'm all excited about the new version of True Grit coming this Christmas movie season but it's only fair I give you the trailer to the original version:


  1. Wayne's Oscar that year was the first Oscar program I remember watching on TV as a kid. Even as far back as 1969 it was considered politically risque by some to honor such a guy. But regular people without an agenda were glad he did.

  2. I think Wayne is short-changed by his peers for his acting skills. I can't shake the feeling he was given the Oscar more for his other roles than for Rooster Cogburn but in his serious movies you can tell the guy can act as well as the best of them.
