June 11th, 2008 - Final Day at The Magic Kingdom

Okay, so here's the deal: since we've come to Disney for the last 3 years - and a kajillion times before - we've vowed this will be our last trip for some time, and since we don't know what next summer will hold, with Rachel scheduled to be in Europe, we've gotta make this trip count. So today is our last visit to The Magic Kingdom for what could be a long time.

(Er, that is, unless we come back next week. We'll still have a day left on our ticket after we finish the cruise. So we'll see.)

Yeah, yeah, we've said that how many times now? This time we're serious! Really!

Let's begin the day, then, with the obligatory shot on Main Street:

Rachel and Emily wanted to ride a few things on their own. We opted for the Speedway:

The attendant person was kind enough to take the picture. Clara hates having her picture taken. Tough! So do I and you don't hear me complaining. Much.

Indeed:

Rachel puts on her "MySpace Face:"

That would have been an interesting motif for vacation: Rachel in front of all her favorites showing the same expression. She didn't go for it.

So a visit to The Magic Kingdom - especially our penultimate visit - wouldn't be complete without a stop at The Pirates of the Caribbean:

Too bad it was closed. Yeah, I know, what's up with that? It was closed the year before last to re-furbish it in time for the tie-in to the last Pirates movie. I can't imagine what they're doing to it now.

We spent the rest of the day waiting in line for Splash Mountain and then hitting our favorites once more. You know what they are and, yeah, we rode 'em.

We're heading to the ship tomorrow. That means we'll have to be packed and ready to go after breakfast so we'll have to call it an early night. I think we've got The Magic Kingdom out of our system though.

Maybe.
