The weather folk promise a break in the skull-cracking heat wave we've been having for the last month or so. I've been doing my part: watering the lawn, washing the car. Both sure fire methods of brewing up a rainstorm.
Might be working. Take a look at the skies from yesterday evening:
The same view, Ansel Adams style:
We got no rain from those but at least it was a welcome change from the usual blazing skies of late August. We'll miss that in a few months but for now we've had enough, thank you very much.

Your title reminds me of some lines from a Bob Dylan song: "A change in the weather, is gonna be extreme..." I think it's from Blood On The Tracks.
ReplyDeleteWe've had a late breaking summer out here and it's only lately gotten warm at all. We sent all the cool weather your way I guess. Your problem is that you guys get influences from the Gulf with moisture and that tends to wreak havoc.
BTW, that B/W photo is rather stunning. Well the sky and the sun's rays. But the way such majesty reigns over suburbia is still sublime.
ReplyDeleteNothing but rain here today in Florida; everything from drizzle to torrential downpour. You're welcome to some of it.
ReplyDeleteYep, Bruce, the title comes from the lyric of Dylan's "You're a Big Girl Now," from Blood on the Tracks. Sharp eye. And thanks for the compliment. I agree, there's much beauty here in the suburbs. I'm luck to catch it.
ReplyDeleteTurned out we got a little of your rain yesterday morning, Jason. We're glad to relieve you of some of it. I hope today's sunnier.
